Cornices

26th January 2021

(Above) The main track into Coire Ardair is currently now under complete snow cover – deer extraction activities involve the use of a quad by SNH personnel at Creah Meagaidh, which all helps to compact. Hopefully the compaction will help retain cover through any brief thaw periods!

(Above) Some largish cornices are now a feature around coire rims; these ones today in Coire a Chriochairein.

(Above)  A glimpsed view into Raeburn’s Gully (centre shot) – the visibility was not great today, especially after mid-day, when some snow showers affected the area. Cornices are likely to be a feature also of ‘The Inner Coire’ slopes particularly those above Cinderella…..
