A fine day in the hills

28th December 2021

Another fine day to be out and about in the hills. Conditions on high remain firm to crunchy underfoot, although softening now in milder temperatures at lower elevations. Many paths remain icy.

(Above) Creag Meagaidh’s near neighbours, on the ‘other side’ (South side of Loch Laggan). Ben Alder (1148m) on the left and right Beinn a Chlachair (1087m)

(Above) Drumochter ‘East’. The rolling summit of  Carn na Gaim (941m ) left of centre. Slightly less of a dusting on these hills, to the East of the main A9

(Above)  Drumochter ‘West’. A couple of hill walkers enjoying the fine winter walking conditions today, in sunshine around mid morning, as they descended from Gael Charn (917m) towards the bealach of Coire Fhar

(Above) In the distance – the Creag Meagaidh main range, Coire a Chriochairein (rt of centre) which lies on the N flank of approach path into Coire Ardair
