Drumochter

10th December 2021

With the seemingly ever increasing popularity of ski touring I thought I’d take a look at the start of our season at the Drumochter hills, outlying our main area……

Useable snow from around 300m on the East side proved the best option today, although it was all fairly icy underfoot to start. Once on the top however, the snow cover was more or less complete and the touring was pleasant enough. Conditions are set for a change tomorrow unfortunately, with a freezing level rising well above the summits and rain to all levels. Got to be quick in this part of the world!
