Thaw now well established.

30th December 2021

(Above) The small coire immediately south of the East Ridge of Beinn a Chaorainn. Full-on thaw conditions today with early heavy rainfall. Snowpack is now patchy with bigger patches mainly above 850m. A few thin smears of old snow survive in some favoured locations like here at the floor of the coire at 740m.

(Above) A view of the lower part of the East Ridge of Beinn a Chaorainn. The ridge is pretty much snow-free in its lower reaches.

Looking mild for a few days then a return to colder conditions on 2nd Jan
