Windy

8th February 2023

It was a dry but windy morning. One walker I met had turned back from the approach to the window after having been blown over 3 times. Colder overnight temperatures meant that the snowpack was firmer than yesterday but otherwise there is little change and stability is good.

Heavy snow forecast for late afternoon and early evening with showers continuing through tomorrow (Thursday) so hopefully the hills will look a bit whiter again.

Ice that formed overnight in the colder temperatures. The snowpack surface was firm in most locations.

It’s hard to take pictures of the wind but this tree at Aberarder shows the prevailing direction quite clearly.
