A no colour day.

28th December 2023

It was a damp monochromatic day at Creag Meagaidh today. The snowpack was quite damp after the freezing level breifly rose to about 1100 metres overnight. The freezing level was around 900 metres during the day with periods of snow/rain. Looking colder and clearer tomorrow. Hopefully a chance to see what is happening at the higher levels.

The view at Aberarder farm. Compare this to the shot from the same location yesterday, all the snow and ice at this level has gone in the slightly milder conditions.

Coire a Chriochairen looked quite white from a distance, but in general the snowpack was quite shallow. In most in the Coire bits of grass and rocks can be seen poking through.

The view into Coire Ardair. Black and white in full colour. This is a colour photo, but there was not much colour to see!

The main Coire Ardair footpath.
