Wild weather from the west.

Mild and windy weather today. The snowpack depleted somewhat especially during the heavier rain showers in the morning.

Looks like a return to winter later tonight as the freezing level drops and we get some new snow.

(Above) Coire a Chriochairein.

 

(Above) Coire Adair. The cloud obscured the coire for most of the morning only lifting briefly to reveal the extent of the current snow cover.

 

(Above) Closer look at the cliffs. Fresh windslab is forecast to develop on some of the pictured slopes. (see report for more detail)

 

(Above) Wet snow pack. It will be interesting to see how quickly the forecast colder temperatures penetrate the current snow and help bring back winter.
